Heritage Bed Company launch cutting-edge e-commerce website for bespoke bed orders.
The Heritage Bed Company has launched a new retail website for their bespoke brass and iron beds, enabling customers from all over the world to place orders for the traditional, Cornish-made beds online.
Victorian manufacturing methods meet 21st century e-commerce on the new website, giving customers instant pricing and ordering for over 6,000 possible configurations of brass and iron beds, which are all hand-made to order in the company’s Cornish factory.
The website - www.heritagebeds.co.uk - also features a fascinating step-by-step factory tour, detailing the stages of the manufacturing process which hasn’t changed for over 150 years.
“Our brief for the web designers was to create a site that made the whole process of choosing a bed as enjoyable as possible,” said the Heritage Bed Company’s Nick Horn. “All our beds are made to order, so for the website to really work it was vital to make it easy for our customers to explore the huge range of options available to them in a clear, logical way.
“We also wanted to communicate the unique nature of our product - we’re the only UK factory still making beds in this way, and our customers love the fact that they’re buying a traditional product which will become an antique of the future.”
The comprehensive website took six months to build from conception, and was created by a leading Cornish design firm, who also created a new brand identity for the company.
The site features the full range of the Heritage Bed Company’s brass and iron beds, which are also available as four-posters and day beds, along with top-quality mattresses to complete the package.
Each bed style is shown with detailed photographs and information about the construction, and customers can use drop-down menus to view the options for sizes, colours, and bases - all with constantly updated prices displayed.
“We believe we manufacture the best traditional metal beds in the world, and our new website really does go a long way towards communicating the amount of time and care that goes into making them,” said Nick Horn.
“As well as the standard designs featured on the site, our craftsmen can produce bespoke beds, so we are always happy to speak to customers and discuss their particular requirements.”
Customers can also view the beds at the Heritage Bed Company’s two showrooms in Bristol (0117 9442388) and Wadebridge, Cornwall (01208 813366).
Prices start at £468.00, and delivery is available throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.
