Cornish cycle holiday operator launches six new tours for 2008.
Cyclists can now discover the best of Cornwall as a specialist holiday operator launches six new self-guided cycling tours of the county for 2008.
The six new tours have been meticulously researched and carefully planned by Cornish Cycle Tours to cater for cyclists of all fitness levels and experience. Accommodation for each night of the tour has been vetted for quality and value for money, while the daily luggage transfers mean all guests have to do each day is pedal.
“Our new tours really show cyclists the best Cornwall has to offer,” said Lan Rowe, founder of Cornish Cycle Tours. “There is so much stunning scenery here, from beautiful beaches and cliff-top paths to landmark attractions like the Eden Project, as well as the excellent food and drink Cornwall is famous for.
“By planning our routes around good quality pub and inn accommodation, we are able to stick to country lanes and dedicated cycle trails throughout, making sure our guests see a side of the county that most visitors miss.”
Cornish Cycle Tours now offer a total of seven tours, ranging in duration from two to seven days cycling. The ‘North Cornwall Tour’ and ‘Penwith Tour’ can both be completed in a long weekend, while the seven day ‘Cornish Tour’ offers a full week of relaxing cycling.
With the average daily distances ranging from 16 miles (26 km) to 60 miles (96 km), cyclists of all fitness levels will find a tour to suit them, whether it’s a relaxed coast through the pretty villages and seaside lanes, or a more challenging circuit of the county.
One thing all tours have in common is that all guests have to think about each day is the ride ahead. Accommodation is booked in advance, and luggage is transferred every morning so cyclists only need to take what they will need on the day’s ride.
Flexibility is a key feature of Cornish Cycle Tours holidays. Because all the tours are self-guided, guests are free to set their own pace and stop where and when the fancy takes them. It also allows customers to book a holiday with almost any start date.
“Cornwall has so much to offer and a bicycle is one of the best ways to see the county,” said Lan Rowe. “One big advantage of self-guided tours is that guests have complete control of their day; if they want to take a detour from the route it’s fine, and if people want to spend a few hours looking around the Eden Project or the National Maritime Museum they can do so for as long as they like.”
Each tour follows a carefully planned route, and guests are supplied with detailed maps showing the route for each day of the tour, together with information about the notable sights and attractions along the route. There are also recommendations for lunch each day, whether it’s an unspoilt country pub or the best pasty shop in the area.
Guests receive a comprehensive briefing before they set off, and Cornish Cycle Tours can also arrange cycle hire, and transfers to and from airports and railway stations in Cornwall.
The company’s website, www.cornishcycletours.co.uk, features detailed itineraries for all seven tours together with a large amount of background information, frequently asked questions, pricing, and booking information.
