Social media campaign for Wavefinder
To tie in with the launch of their new ecommerce website, action sports publisher Wavefinder wanted to use social media to strengthen their brand identity and relationship with customers.
They also wanted to harness digital PR to increase web traffic and drive sales of their books and downloads.

Strategy and plan
We recommended adding a blog-based news section to the website which would be regularly updated with action sports news and exclusive content from Wavefinder's surf, snow and mountainbike books.
Using a blogging platform greatly improved the site's SEO performance, is easy for the client to update, and can export feeds of the latest news to social networking platforms.

Getting social
We then created new Twitter accounts for the company's surf and snow brands, and optimised the Wavefinder and Snowfinder Facebook fan pages, setting up feeds from the website to automatically update the profiles.
We also made sure the company's email newsletters integrated with the social media accounts.

Results
Since launching, visits to the website are up 125% and the time spent on site has increased by 72%.
Social media platforms now account for 14% of all traffic to wave-finder.com, with Facebook the biggest referrering website.
