With the requirement of improving the search engine ranking of their website and increasing traffic, Crantock Bakery asked us to research and write original content about the Cornish pasty.
Research and writing
First, we researched the history and culture of the Cornish pasty and drew up a list of 20 ideas for short articles.
We then looked at the most popular keywords and search terms to ensure our content focussed on the most popular areas for internet search engines.
The "pasty facts" articles covered subjects such as the history of the Cornish pasty, a recipe, and how to crimp a Cornish pasty.
Results
In the six month period from April to October 2010 the pasty facts pages have been viewed over 15,000 times and have increased total website traffic by 23%.
The pages are also being enjoyed by customers, with the average time spent reading each page 72% higher than the rest of the website.
